These Terms of Service govern your use of this website and any purchases made through the Berkenshire County Records Office.
By visiting the website, browsing the archives or placing an order, you agree to the terms outlined below.

About the Records Office
Once Upon an Envelope provides immersive, story-led archive files containing documents, correspondence and artefacts relating to fictional stories set within the County of Berkenshire.
Each archive file is designed to encourage reading, creativity, curiosity and independent storytelling.
All archive files, stories, characters, locations and materials are works of fiction unless otherwise stated.
Archive Classification
Archive files are organised using the Berkenshire classification system:
🔵 Blue Seal Archives: Ages 7–9
🟢 Green Seal Archives: Ages 9–12
🔴 Crimson Seal Archives: Ages 13+
These age recommendations are intended as guidance only.
Parents and guardians should use their own discretion when selecting an archive file.
Orders and Payments
All orders are subject to availability.
By placing an order, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age, or
- You are purchasing on behalf of a child with the consent of a parent or guardian
Payment must be completed before an archive file is prepared for dispatch.
All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£).
We reserve the right to change prices at any time without prior notice.
Pre-Orders
Certain archive files may be made available for pre-order.
If a file is listed as a pre-order item, the estimated dispatch date will be clearly displayed on the website.
Dispatch dates are estimates and may occasionally change.
If you wish to cancel a pre-order before dispatch, please contact the Records Office.
Dispatch and Delivery
We will always do our very best to prepare and dispatch archive files within the timescales stated on the website.
However, delivery times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed.
We are not responsible for delays caused by:
- Postal services
- Couriers
- Weather conditions
- Industrial action
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control
Returns and Refunds

If your archive file arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect, please contact the Records Office as soon as possible.
Archive Contents
Every archive file is assembled individually and may contain a combination of:
- Documents
- Correspondence
- Photographs
- Maps
- Certificates
- Newspaper reports
- Artefacts
- Other archive materials
Contents may vary between archive files.
Items should be handled with reasonable care.
Creative Ownership and Copyright
All archive files, stories, documents, illustrations, designs, characters, names, locations, artwork, photographs, videos and written content remain the intellectual property of Once Upon an Envelope.
Archive materials are intended for personal use only.
They may not be:
- Copied
- Reproduced
- Distributed
- Resold
- Republished
- Used commercially
Without prior written permission.
Website Use
